Hello Everyone,

I am looking to join a Running group. Are there any groups that run in the Athens area? Any area is fine.

@Deorum, I understand (LOL) as in the USA, we also get frustrated with the metric system. But, I do have a conversion tool I will utilize to post proper Km per minute times... So, don't worry, I will adapt, as I did in the past when I was in Greece :)

Yes, for now, my 6:15 MPK is not quite my easy pace, but it's manageable for up to 2 hours, but not a lot of talking, but I can sure listen to all the others talk.....

Ahhh, the imperial measurements gives a headache to runners used in the metric system.

:P

this is about 6'15"/km, its a nice average pace, most runners do their easy runs/long runs/fun runs at that pace while chatting along.

@Than, Ok thanks.. Yes, I run at all three of these places now on occasion. What I was looking for is maybe a large group of runners who meet at a certain place at a certain time? I seem to remember years ago, there was a group called Sylogos Dromeon Agias Athinon but not sure they exist anymore? I was a member in 1991 long ago...

You can go to the local stadiums (Pallini, Holargos, Halandri) and try to make some acquaintances there. I am sure you will find people to chat and run. Most groups are open, you just meet them there.
Also Mountain Hymettus, Saturday and Sunday morning is full of amateur runners.
Have fun!

Now my pace is a bit slower but as I am improving it's getting better. Now it is 10 minute per mile pace.
Deorum Posted - 18/09/2015 : 11:40:59
There are plenty.
Im sure someone will pop up soon.

What is your average pace?

Hello Scott.

Where do you live in Athens?
