hi guys... i jusk completed kyriaki my first half marathon at 2:08... and was thinking of going for my first one in Nov ath the Athens classic Marathon... but i would love to find a team in this area (glyfada .. beach front bascially to train with)...
and any suggest when i should start my traiing plan

| Your training plan should never stop! Now that you completed the half marathon it's the right time to go one step further. Your next goal should be to complete a 3 hour long run. Lets say in the next 3 months. |

thank you, yes i agree i wont stop of course, but i reckon my intense training will be with at least 16 weeks before the run in Nov... and yes i agree totally to complete a three hour run first!

Hi Eleni. I'm going this November for my first ever marathon. I've run 3 half marathons (over 2 hours each) the past couple of months plus I'm going on the Nike run this Sunday in Glyfada.
I'll continue with my running and in the beginning of July I'll start a Hal Higdon training plan (novice 2) which is 18 weeks and will take me up to November (and hopefully lose 4-5 kgs in the process  ) I recommend that you have a look at it. Halhigdon.com and check on marathon training.
So far for my long runs (maximum 18km) I run from Kavouri to around Ag. Kosmas and back. I'll keep doing the long runs along the beach front but probably early in the morning as the weather gets warmer.
It's always nice to run with company so if you want I can send you my email and see if we can meet for a run along the beach front. |

we run at the southern part of Athens (Voula-Kavouri-Glyfada-Helliniko)
You can meet us and join us
Usually during the weekdays we run in a track field but during the long runs (weekends) on the road (kavouri-glyfada)

Hi Eleni....! I don't live in your neighbourhood, so I can't give you any advice about running groups...
...I just wanted to congratulate you on completing your first HM and to wish you luck in training for your 1st marathon. ..
...and good luck to dimitris-kar, too....!..
...Dimitri, your English is excellent, if you don't mind me saying so.... ....did you perhaps live abroad at some point...?

I picked up what I know from studying in Bolton (pubs) for 4 years. 
On a more serious note, I went to an English school since 7th grade and spend 4 years studying in England. Loved the Bolton accent that I had acquired. |
